制造中空玻璃設備的原片玻璃可以是無色浮法玻璃、鍍膜玻璃、鋼化玻璃、夾層玻璃等。應避免使用普通平板玻璃，普通平板玻璃的透明度及強度均達不到要求。上述玻璃原片必須符合相應標準要求，經檢驗合格后才能使用。不同廠家不同批次的玻璃在切割前應首先檢查有無色差，將色差較大的玻璃分別用于不同的工程或不同的建筑立面中。玻璃切割尺寸應按圖紙要求嚴格執行，同時操作人員應注意玻璃表面，不得有劃傷、氣泡等明顯缺陷。鋁條、插角的選用：鋁條的厚度應在0.30mm～0.35mm之間，厚度應均勻一致，透氣孔分布均勻。鋁條須經陽極氧化處理或去污處理，一定要選用質量好、檔次高的產品，提高鋁條利用率。插角尺寸要選好，表面要擦干凈。

The cutting size of glass should be strictly executed according to the drawing requirements, and the operator should pay attention to the surface of the glass, without obvious defects such as scratches and bubbles. Selection of aluminum bars and corner inserts: The thickness of the aluminum bars should be between 0.30mm and 0.35mm, with uniform thickness and even distribution of ventilation holes. Aluminum bars must undergo anodizing or decontamination treatment, and high-quality and high-grade products must be selected to improve the utilization rate of aluminum bars. The size of the insertion angle should be carefully selected, and the surface should be wiped clean.

中空玻璃設備的優點是節能與環保，現代建筑能耗主要是空調和照明，前者占55%，后者占23%，玻璃是建筑外墻中最薄、最易傳熱的材料。大部分玻璃加工廠使用的中空玻璃生產線都是半自動式板壓或輥壓生產設備，其生產節奏的快慢主要受限于壓片機的速度和在線清洗機的速度。若想提高一次提交成品率，就必須落實合片前各個工序的自檢和互檢，從上片檢查、鋁框制作乃至丁基膠涂布，尤其是要注意上框工序的質量檢查，因為任何缺陷在該工序都基本可以顯現出來，而且在合片前能較容易地進行補救處理。
